Tara High

Welcome!  My name is Tara High, and I am a Maryland Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) and also a Certified School Social Work Specialist (C-SSWS). I attended the University of Pittsburgh and received my Masters in Social Work in 1994. I received my clinical license in 1995.

I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents as well as adults. I have provided therapeutic services in a variety of settings, including residential treatment programs, hospitals, and K-12 public schools.   I utilize multiple treatment approaches based on the needs and goals identified during the initial sessions, but I have utilized Cognitive Behavioral Approaches (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness. I have experience working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, self-harming behavior, trauma, Autism, and behavioral issues.

As a therapist, my goal is to help each of my clients feel as comfortable and safe as possible in a trusting and supportive environment. I recognize the courage that it takes to face our challenges. I strive to establish strong and authentic relationships with the clients that I work with that enable them to move toward their goals. Together we can look at the past to inform the present and work towards a brighter future.
